I got my first bass of the year today at Lake Reba. I was really just practicing my casting with a baitcaster from the bank but hopeful to catch something.
I caught it on an Excaliber squarebill crankbait in fire tiger. My cheapest crankbait. :)

went to Reba after work yesterday and caught my first bass of the year too! was throwing crankbaits for an our with nothing, put and in-line spinner on and first cast with it I landed it. its small, but I was happy.

Great job! Even if they are small, I enjoy the thrill in catching a bass in such a pressured lake like Reba.
Fishing from the bank is tough too. It's so shallow so far from the bank, it's hard to keep a lure out of the weeds. The crankbait I was using is the only one I have that will stay a couple feet under the water.
