Anybody have any recent reports about striper fishing. Was wondering how deep people been catching them, also wondering if bait is still possible to obtain with the warmer weather. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I don't have a current report but do have info from previous years. Right now the lake temp is around 82 and the fish should be in the main lake but not too deep yet. Look in the main lake where larger creeks hit the main channel. Focus on water 60 to 100 feet deep and the fish should be found 25 to 45 feet deep. If you can find humps near the channel or shelf that goes down to 60 feet but then quickly drops into the 100 foot deep channel they would be good spots to start.
If you don't have a topo map of the lake you can use this site. http://kygeonet.ky.gov/tcm/ In the icons on the top right click the "Basemap Gallery" and then click the "Kentucky Topography" icon. That will give you the contour lines in the lake itself.

I haven't fished in about a month. I've heard fish are around 35 ft deep now but don't have any locations I can recommend. Can't help you with bait info either, just know that the warm water is something you have to deal with. Sorry I can't help more.
I'm hoping to fish a day this weekend. If I do, I'll post a report.

Sounds about right to me. I haven't been in several weeks. If netting bait I would also try water 90-100 feet deep to put the light out. Again from years past. Might be hard to keep alive though. As I remember they shed a lot of scales this time of year. Be prepared to have reflective sparkles all over your boat and yourself. I like em on my nose LOL.
Nice map. I had to zoom in to only one specific level to get underwater contours.
I saved this link from an earlier post . This is the best I've seen so far
