Do not know the thermocline depth, but went to Kincaid for the first time this past weekend. In the heat of the day, and having never been there, I caught 5 bass and then switched to bluegill and had a catfish break my 6lbs test line. That was in 3 hours and included idling around the whole lake to check it out.
I fished Elmer Davis Sunday and we caught around 10 and lost about half that many on plastics right on the grass line. Nothing huge. The biggest fish was a 3-4lb channel cat that hammered a popper. I'm not sure about the thermocline depth, though.
Went to Kincaid yesterday. Thermocline was about ten feet from the surface. Going out tonight to fish and watch the meteor shower. Lake is still stained with about 1 1/2 Ft. visibility in the front of lake and 1 Ft. towards the rear. Caught four nice keepers on buzzbait and willow spinner baits.
Thanks for the info guys.
any 1 else?
R the brush piles, skids & other things sunk in the lake by KDFWR holding bass?
