Ky and Barkley were a little brutal....
Man, Ky and Barkley were tough this past weekend.
We caught limits Fri and Sat, but they were tough to come by. Sunday we sucked it up, catching 2 keepers, on 12 fish.
Friday, we fished South Barkley out of Devils elbow area and had a bag of keepers in 30 minutes on top water. After that, we struggled to continue having bites. Funny thing, Those 5 keepers came off a single spot that is on my regular milk run.
Saturday, we caught a couple on red eye shad but most came on shakey worm or other small plastics. Fished North KY from Rhodes Bay to Smith Bay. I wish we had spent more time Higgins, since that is where most fish came from.
Sunday, was a short day so we put in at Poplar Creek, and fished a few spots on North Barkley. We got bites, but just not many. We ended up with 12 on a Shakey worm......
I'm headed back next weekend, and maybe, the next after that.
It sure is nice to be back in the saddle :) .

Patties is always a good place to eat dinner
[QUOTE=GeoFisher;550417]It looked like they were pulling Barkley pretty good. I have some magic spots, that you can actually see little eddies form. Those magic spots are CRAZY.
Not this time........the told me to go back home.....Instead, I had a couple Belgium beers and went to Patties for dinner :) :)
Win Win.
I sure wish Timbers was still open.......

I love the Pork Chops at Patties. I don't get to get over there much these days but when you said "Patties" it brought back some good memories of going camping and fishing down there at the LBTL.
