Kayaks
Hey I've been looking at purchasing a kayak, but as I went to go buy one there was little holes in the bottom of the kayak, and I was just concerned about it, so I was wondering if anyone knew what it is for.
the only thing I could come up with is if it's like a draining if water gets in the boat. Btw the kayak is a sit on
if anyone could help me out that would be awesome
thank you

Those are called scupper holes. They basically serve as drain holes to let out any water that gets in while you're paddling. Just google "scupper holes" and you'll find a lot more information.

Ok, thank you so much for the information

I have a jackson cuda 14 with the scupper holes which i really like. I take it to florida every winter and fish the flats so the scupper holes are nice in the event a big boat tries to sink me and lets water over the boat. It happens all too often.
Also nice for hot KY summer days on a lazy river to keep your feet cooled off as opposed to being in a sit inside type of yak.

AND .....
Scupper holes can also be used to mount a transducer for your depthfinder :
