But this is why we have separation between church and state. People are free to practice their chosen religion but the state or any state representative should NOT be pushing their religious beliefs and ways upon others using their authority as a state official or government official. He could maybe have just asked her to attend his church service maybe or maybe that too would have been pushing it.
People should be free to chose how they want to worship God or not worship at all. The decision should be left to the individuals.
