Barkley 5/16 thru 5/19
Fished North Barkley from Tuesday afternoon thru Thursday evening...two of us caught 70 bass, which included a couple short smallmouths..but Wow ! if there was a record for 2 - 3 lber's , i think we broke it. Almost every fish was a 14 -16 inch football... strong pulling fish! nothing over 3 1/2 pound but arm is sore from setting hooks...Always love Barkley in May!

Man that is awesome! Great job and it is encouraging to see such a successful report. I was there last weekend when the cold front his and couldn't buy a bite. I'm hoping to go back in about three weeks I hope they are still biting by then.
If you don't mind me asking were most taken in coves or the main lake? I don't usually like fishing out in the main lake too much and usually stick to some of the coves. Also if you don't mind saying, how deep were you fishing for them?
Again nice going it must have been a lot of fun, I'm glad you did so well.

Fished coves... brush bites were ok... but found most bites on slow tapering banks that had green grass sticking up...water color was very coppery ... so fish were shallow and aggressive. Some banks held 8 to 10 fish... Thought flukes would have been good , but wasn't. All most all came on Cristy Critters green pumpkin...and some decent ones on a KVD 2.5 in a shad color...the last evening, believe it or not...Pop-R bite shallow got some good strikes...
