I stated some time ago that I thought that the IDNR was stocking Muskies in the Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife Lakes to help control the Gizzard Shad. Maybe I was onto something?
Muskie with big teeth are just the right weapon to help slim down the population of large gizzard shad in the Bluegrass F&W lakes. There are enough forage fish for the muskie and the Large Mouth Bass to thrive. IE There is enough food to go around.
