My favorite dale hollow fish.Yes I floated the fly, used alewives drifting, and trolled for big crappie, but the hollow gills were my favorite. 7 and 8 inchers were not common, but I got my share of them.Barkley was anpther good bet, for gills and red ears.You can get tired of throwing back 17 inch smb, but a plate full of gills, coated with a mixture of bread crumbs, corn meal and zaterans cajun mix, made me go back for more.

A few it's definitely slowed down. Most are off beds and being caught around mayfly and willow fly hatches.
