It is a cool article. It seems to be a long term type goal, and would be very cool if something could start munching on them.

Who knows would take and make a significant difference but I like that they are looking for solutions. It may end being a combination of things that keep the Asians in check and never any one silver bullet .
Not sure how my wife and children would feel about swimming with some of these guys:D but they certainly could be a blast to fish for if they establish themselves in our waters.
I wish Barkley could support Pike. They would eat some young carp and they are possibly my favorite fish to fish for.
Interesting. Those alligator gar look like alligators without legs.

Given how big they get, I believe they may even be a deterrent to excessive populations of:
- Water skiers
- Jet Skis
- Wake Boarders
- Swimmers less than 5 feet long
- Dogs
- Ducks
- Geese
- and on rare occasions bass boats 16 foot or less. :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Fishing on dale was sometimes frustrating because of the long nosed gar. But they can be fun to deal with, cut the barb off a jig head, and tie a strand of yarn[nylon] and you will wear yourself out casting to them, also the creeks on the cumberland river are full of them.

We use to do similar things catching some huge ones in South Carolina while in the backwaters of the Cooper River.
