Cumberland River

Headed down next Saturday evening and fishing the river for 3-4 days. Anyone been doing any good for trout or Striper. Going to fish a day right below the dam and then a couple days down in Burkesville.

yesterday when I crossed the 90 bridge, the water was high and muddy. We just had 2 and 1/2 inches of rain Saturday and all the creeks are dumping a lot of water in. Up by the dam the water is clear and they have only been running 3 generators to keep from flooding down stream.

I fished the river from last Wednesday to Sunday. The river was blown up Wednesday to Friday.The result was bad fishing. But Saturday and Sunday, we slammed. We bounced power bait, threw rooster tails and Rapals. From Ray Mann rd to the sandbar, we were limited out. Also a very high number of small Brooks.

When it comes to Striper. I had two big dogs chasing and stunning my bait, but they never really took it, at least good enough to get a hook set. Both striper hits were between the sand bars after Ray Mann rd and before Helms landing. I was using shad. Good luck.
