Cumberland bass report
Heard the night bass bite was on. Got on the water about 1 1/2 hours before sunset, started fishing main lake hollers on west end with a whopper plopper, bite was steady, probably caught 15, no monsters, best was a fat 3 lb Kentucky, but fun. After sunset it was a different story, however. Fished main lake points and cuts with my old stand by 3/8 oz black and blue hair jig with a blue paca chunk. To tell you how slow it was, I never even had a flapper torn off the craw. Had a few fish mouth the bait but none wanted to eat, might shoulda thrown a spinnerbait or switched up my bottom presentation, but I’m stubborn. Four hours and no night fish later I threw in the towel.

I just pulled in to the dock myself, figured i would go out and knockout a quick limit before its bait catching time, i sure do hope i catch some shad, does anybody have a good deep fried shad recipe? I had 2 bites on a jig, one was a 15" ky, and the other was a 19 lb drum. Not sure what happened but it changed drastically in a couple days

I didnt think about it at the time but i dont remember hearing any shad on the banks, maybe that had something to do with it
