Heading down late Friday to try for some brown fish. Any luck during the day or should I stick with night fishing. Any information on water temp or clarity would be appreciated

Got a buddy that fished White oak this weekend and did well on topwater. Mostly spots but a few browns in there too. Said they didn't catch the first LM all day. I found that odd.
