Its the Time of Year
Its the Time of Year
Its the time of year
When the long grass
Blow in waves
And swallows perform spiraling dives
With mud they seal their nest
Its the time of year
When the early morning sun
Streaks through thorny hedgerows
And the doe lies with her fawn
Motionless and in silence
It’s the time of year
When the earth blossoms
Under full moon
When orange lilies and white daisies
On roadsides bloom
Its the time of year
When in early morning and evening
Waters turn crimson and blue
When fish surface and roll
To excite or rest the soul

I watched smallmouth after smallmouth surface and roll yesterday morning eating those tiny fry.......and would not touch a lure......it "didn't excite or rest the soul" but instead FRUSTRATED the soul! Ha!

Definitely weren't carp! I know a smallmouth when I see one!
Besides, carp don't eat fry or baitfish, they have no stomach to digest them!
