rust problem

Hi! Just want to know how you guys avoid rust problems in your vehicles whenever you go fishing or boat-docking? Last week, me, my son, and my nephew went on a local beach. Some saltwater may have splashed onto the underside of the truck during our trip. Yesterday, I cleaned the under-carriage of my truck and found a small rusting part on the [URL="https://4wheelonline.com/Fender_Flares.3212"]fender flares[/URL] and one of the rims. Should I be worried about corrosion? Do you have some tips to remove the rust?
