Debt vs. Shutdown
Will we ever lower the national debt with the swamp still in charge?
Will a shutdown force them to change their corrupt spending?
Does the gang of 8 have enough power to force a change?
I don't see anything changing with the crooks calling the shots.
What is the breaking point, $40T, $50T, $100T ?
Where do we put our money to be safe? Real estate and gold is already too high. Banks are ready to fail. Record credit card defaults. Swamp is wanting digital currency. China Joe is selling out what few jobs we have left.
I'm an old man and I've busted my tail my whole life while the freeloaders lived the life of Riley.
When my money is worthless, it will look like the freeloaders were smarter than me.
All you see on TV are adds for vaccines, new drugs, and people bumming money. My mailbox is full every day with junk mail bumming money. Are people stupid enough to give to these scam artists?
OK, rant over.

Invest it deep and wide...............DEEP and WIDE. The Ramsey rules still work. 25 small cap, 25 large cap, 25 international and 25 growth and income.
If you want to go more diverse, split each 4 categories in aggressive and save for 8 categories.
I'm not a financial expert, but I've done well enough to say I'm finally retiring........
WO HOOO.
Later,

when it hits the fan, is Fidelity going to be any safer than a bank?
I'm getting 4 to 5% on CDs at the banks and credit unions but still don't feel comfortable leaving it in the banks.
i don't trust the FDIC's $250k guarantee but does Fidelity have anything similar?
I'm semi-retired and don't need more income but I don't want to lose what I have.
just trying to figure out the safest place to keep it.

All brokerage firms are covered by 250k.
And I don't think any brokerage firms have collapsed.
