Just picked up a three homemade versions. I am new to jigs, I use crankbaits and plastic worms most of the time. Can anyone suggest some of the best ways to fish it and the colors to use in the day and at night.
thanks, Bulldogdave

Need info on chatters getting hung up? Anybody else had this problem? Spent more time getting it unhung than if I was throwing a DD22 in 5ft of water. After almost every other cast getting hung on rocks or stickups and after already breaking one off I was so mad I just decided to go ahead and leave the other on a log also. All of this after my best efforts to make the thimg snag-proof.
I have not had that problem...yet. I read an article about the bait where the inventor/owner said that the bait was designed for fishing around grass and that hangups in brush are a distinct possibility. The only thing I can say is to be midful of that and try to keep it near the wood, not in the wood.
TNFISHIN,
The bait is not really designed to be fished as a jig on the bottom. It is more of crankbait or spinnerbait style bait.
I was fishing mine on a windy day, and the trying to fish an entrance of a small creek in the back of a bay. the wind blew my cast right into the buck brush. I was able to get my chatterbait back out with absolutely no problem. One thing, I did not have a trailer hook on at that time. I have missed a few fish on short strikes, and I think I may try using a trailer hook in the future. I'm just shore bound right now, and will let you guys know once I get to try them out.
I have had my best luck over submerged vegetation. I would think they would be good for any type of dock fishing, or fishing downed trees.
Good luck,
Danny
