Monroe Results?
Does anyone know the results from the Fishers Of Men tourney at Monroe from this past Saturday? Also, the bass fishing reports from Monroe have been few & far between. Has anyone been having any luck or talked to anyone that has recently had luck fishing for bass at Monroe? Thanks for any info.

RE: Monroe Results?
Do not know what it took to win but did fish Monroe on Saturday from about 7:00 until 1:00. Managed to catch 3 decent keepers in the Sugar creek area on crankbaits out on the normal shoreline with the largest being around 4 lbs. and the other 2 pound and a half to 2 lbs. Also had 2 shorties in the same area. Fished Ramp and Moores heavy but couldnt manage a hit. Anyone know how much rain they got up there Sunday night?

RE: Monroe Results?
Doggone it, I knew I shoulda go to Sugar Creek! I was fishing the cove right before Sugar Creek, didn't think it would be worth it to go in there as I was short on time. I caught a nice 4 pounder the week before in Allen Creek doing the same thing as you did Rangerpro. I spend a major portion of the day in Allen Creek Saturday without any result. We had our club tourn. there Sat. and only 2 boats had fish, one each. I talked to a lots of guys out there and none of them had anything.

RE: Monroe Results?
Thanks for the info rangerpro. According to the "Louisville Daily Lake Report", Monroe got .33 inches of rain from Sunday. If I provide you with my home e-mail, would you be willing to tell in a little more detail how & where you caught your fish Saturday? If you fish tournaments, I would understand if you did not want to give up any additional info. Just let me know rangerpro. Thanks

RE: Monroe Results?
Zoomy I was prefishing for a tournament. Just look or the original break on the shoreline and try to concentrate on that. Main lake seems to be producing better than the slow side. Thanks for the info on the rain amount also. When are you fishing up there Zoomy? If it is after my tournament maybe I can help you out

RE: Monroe Results?
rangerpro,
I might be getting back down to Monroe Saturday. Dad & I were there Saturday with no luck. We only fished for a little over 2 hours on the fast side. It was the first time to have the boat out this year & I mainly wanted to check everything out to make sure everything still worked. It was a good thing because the cranking battery was completely dead even though it was showing full charge on the charger. We had to leave the ramp to go back into Bloomington to get a new cranking battery. Enough about that, back to fishing. Another post on this thread mentioned that it took 21lbs. to win a tourney Sunday. You think the better weights were coming from the fast side? I thought the slow side would be way too muddy, but maybe not. Do you think the weights could have come from the slow side? When is your tourney at Monroe?

RE: Monroe Results?
I was one of 15 teams to fish the FOM Open, 4 fish were weighed by 3 teams, 1 team had 2 fish and the other 2 had 1 each. Total winning weight was 7 and change, big bass was 3 plus.
This was a tough day on the lake!! Where was a club tournament that weighed in prior to the FOM, they also had 15 boat and only weighed 4 fish.
I fished in a cove just passed Fairfax, the water was stained but not muddy, temps were 48.5 to 48.9. I stay there for over 3 hours and no bites.
I moved to Ramp Creek, water was muddy and 51.8 was the temp. I got 1 bites while working some trees. stay there for 2 hours, there is no bark left on the tree LOL!!
I fished with a Tube, Spinner Bait, Bl/Blu Jig. Forgot the explosives!!
Finished up on the slow side, real muddy no bites. all in all, it was good to get out, boat ran good and didn't break anything.

RE: Monroe Results?
My tournament is this weekend. I think alot of fish came off the slow side as well I just didnt spend anytime up there. Your guess is as good as mine where the winning weight came from. I am going Friday and plan on hitting a few spots on the slow side but if it is very dirty I will be back on the main lake looking for some fish staging off of the bays. If the weather gets warm though and they dont drop the bottom out of the lake whih is unlikely you can bet some fish will be caught shallow on the slow side.
