Largemouth spawn on Patoka yet? If so how long ago and if not are they ready to pop?
All I can tell you is this. I have crappie fished the lake this weekend and last. Both weekends have been slow. Yesterday we caught Four crappie that we kept 9.5" to 13.5". All four still had eggs in them. If they have not spawned yet I really doubt the bass have. Fished for bass a little in shallow areas and did not catch a thing. I am aware of a guy who fished a tournament last weekend and caught some fish between the bank and the edge of the tree line. He was using soft plastics. Sounds pre-spawn to me.
Best of luck,

Fishing a tournament in a week on Patoka...heard of any hot areas right now? Baits, techniques, etc...?
Was up there yesterday, saw a few clean beds but no bass. Caught some buck bass and a 1 good female in about 6 foot of water straight out from the beds. Looks like they moved off from the cool nights. Female was still full.
fished patoka on sat/sun - did ok on bass - not many numbers but the few were 3-6 lbs. no spawn
Any specific pattern to catching them that you noticed? You fish main lake or up river?
3 weeks ago the temps up in the creeks were 65-70 and there were fish on beds then,i think a lot of them are done and already moved back out.
couldn't really get into a pattern - they were hit or miss, but when they hit they were good size
main lake mostly
Any idea what all this rain will do to the bass? Looks to cool off a little and rain everyday for the next week. High's in the 60's. Think this will push the bass out a little deeper?
Frenzy,
The trees/stickups are the obvious...
Give me as many cast as possible on the deep edge of grass with a white (transparent) Crankbait. If you got wind fantastic, keep firing a limit will be yours and maybe even a few extra pounds...
Let me know how you do!
how did you do in the tournament?
