Patoka Lake
Ok guys I'm looking for a little help. I don't fish tournaments at Patoka, in fact I only fish it a couple times a year. I mostly fish Boggs and Barkley. I'm going up there for 3-4 hours Sunday morning and looking for some adivce or suggestions on what to do or where to go. Any and all advice is greatly appreciate.
If I can help you out on Boggs or Barkley I'll try.
If you don't feel comfortable posting here you can send me an email to .
Thanks,
Charlie

RE: Patoka Lake
This won't be much help but it is a start. I was in the Walls area on Saturday. The water temperature was 78 to 80. We were not bass fishing. Anyone we spoke to who were bass fishing were not doing any good. We were fishing for crappie and bluegill. Caught a few little ones but that was about it.
This spring has been slow there. If you discover what is going on with the lake this year let the rest of us know.
Best regards,
Bumblebee

RE: Patoka Lake
How did you do Sunday? We fished the GTL tourney and only weighed in two keepers. It was tough for us, and probably some of the lowest weights I have seen from a Patoka tourney. Of course, Saturday we had five by 9:00 am. Isn't that always the story.

RE: Patoka Lake
Troll one ounce to ounce and half jigs 12-15 feet deep. White or Chartruese trailer. Look for bait fish and mark em. Kep trolling over the bait fish. The stripers will hit em fast and hard.
Begin at the Osprey nest fish the channel towards the dam. Circle the Dam go along the bank fishing north and hit the cove as time goes on.

RE: Patoka Lake
How are you getting you bucktails down to the 10 to 15 ft depth? Are you running downriggers, attaching a lead ball, attaching jet or dipsey divers, other?
Thanks for your help.

RE: Patoka Lake
Maybe use a three way swivel device and a deep diving crank bait that dives to 15 ft. Tie the jig onto the three way above the crank bait and that may work.
I may do some trolling for crappie this summer and I am going to try to use this with some small 1/32oz jigs and the crank baits.
