New plugs, fairly new fuel filter, good gas, and the thing wont run.
It will start, and try to get going but stops after a few seconds. Any ideas before I send it to the shop?

Make sure it has good spark on all cylinders, spark board, jumping about 3/8 of an inch. Drain carbs, make sure there's no water in the fuel, maybe though a vent or out of the gas stations tank. Compression on all cylinders, about 100-125 psi on all cylinders. After that it's service shop time. Good Luck

Sounds like it could be a fuel problem or a gummed up carbeurator. It sounds like a problem I had with mine(could get it started but when trying to give it gas it would die).I put a product called seafoam in the gas.Its supposed to clean the carb.I would try that first. fairly cheap, always start with the cheap stuff first.or pull the fuel line off where it runs to the carb and be sure you are gettting a good fuel flow to the carb.I am no expert but some things I would try first.Too expensive to take to a shop.
I'll definitely check those out guys. I really appreciate the pointers. I talked to the shop a while back and they immediately said it was an ignition problem. Big Bucks. Thanks again guys.
could be your fuel pump, maybe the diaphram has a hole in it.
