Kentucky Lake dam tailwater
Anybody ever fish the KY Lake tailwater this time of year?
I have had great success with Wheeler/Wilson this time of year, but can't make it to Alabama this year.
Not sure since there is not another lake below KY dam, what type of fish would hold in the river.
If I go, I will go tomorrow due to weather.
thanks for any help

RE: Kentucky Lake dam tailwater
I have fished the tailwaters of KY Lake and Barkley and both hold good fish. I would fish crankbaits in and around eddys along the bank caused by rocks and so forth. You can also try a jig up around the lock walls and eddy's that will allow the jig to get to bottom.
Good luck and let us know how you do.

RE: Kentucky Lake dam tailwater
It's my understanding that just below the dam there are normally good numbers of "rock fish"... stripers.. and large ones.
Also several pros fish those areas when the BASS and/or FLW series go out of Paducah. The catch all three species of Black Bass around the cover and especially in the eddies. Also underwater rock piles are said to hold large numbers of bass.
I'm planning to be on Barkley tomorrow. If you change your mind and decide to fish the lake, I'll be launching out of Mineral Mounds.
White TR21, Blue ">" and red pinstripe. I drive a Ford F150 extended cab, 4X4, maroon with tan stripe at bottom.
Good luck to you,
Tight lines and God Bless
