Tracker Livewell Problems
Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a 2002 Tracker Tournament V18 and absolutely love the boat. My only complaint is the livewell system. It has an open/closed lever on the side next to the throttle and a auto/manual pump switch on the console. Sometimes when I'm trying to pump water into the well I can hear the pump running but no water. My dealer suggested backing up to relieve "trapped air" and I must admit this does appear to prime the system. But then it starts pumping water like an old man with a prostate problem, squirt-squirt.
Anybody have similar Tracker livewell experience? Any fixes? The livewell on my 1999 PT165 worked great, not so with this one. I looked at a new V18 at Bass Pro Shops and they have changed the design. Guess it was a bad design.
RE: Tracker Livewell Problems
Ive got a different boat but the same problem at times. To get the water flowing I have to turn the pump on about three times. That seems to get the air lock out and the water flowing. Give that a try and see if it helps. You may not have to go backward to get water flowing into the hose.

RE: Tracker Livewell Problems
probabbly need to replace the pump.If has been used in water with a lot of sediment or has sucked something through the screen the impeller is probably worn or chipped therefore it wont self prime because of too much impeller to housing clearance.when you back up it will force water in there and it will dribble but have no pressure.
