BIG Thanks from Big Bass Big Cash
LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-06 AT 09:33PM (EST) by fishbum (admin)[p]Thank you so much to the anglers who showed your faith in us by supporting our tournament! We were truly humbled by the wonderful feedback from our anglers and our weighmasters throughout the three days and at the awards dinner. I'll be honest--a three day, 350 mile, 5 weigh station tournament is quite a challenge in the logistics department, but this weekend has been one of the most enjoyable events that we have produced and we so appreciate the welcome you guys and gal gave us when we "entered the fishing community."
It brought us great pleasure to present $50,000 to Danny Goble, especially knowing that he was splitting with Kevin Brown!
Again, we can't thank Jim Strader, Wes Thomas, Jim Dicken and Peter Maloney enough for seeing the enormity of what this can become.
We thank you all! I so want to see or talk to you guys before next year, I loved working with you all! (call me, I think you ALL have my cell number...HA!)
Thanks again,
Linda Hill

RE: BIG Thanks from Big Bass Big Cash
Linda,
While I did not get to fish for technical reasons, but I am also a little too far south and don't know the river at all, but the THANKS goes to you and your group.
You guys really raised the level of fishing for the folks up there.
I would love to see you expand this tournament next year. I'd love to see it move south and west to the big lakes in addition to the river.
TWO $50,000 tournaments... WOW!!!
Just a suggestion, and easy to make.... it's not my money. *sigh*
Really though, thank you very much for all the excitement and the chance you provided for so many fisher people.
Danny
RE: Ky. Resturant Association
Linda, Danny Goble here....Im at work today...can you believe that!! Hey...I just want to think you, and your vision for this tournament!!! You are something else girl, dreaming this format up for the common angler, the steaks from Outback were just great;...you and your staff..Jim Diken..KBF / TBF (Pres. Donnie Keeton).. my club Kincaid Basssmaster, and Jim Strader. But most of all, my partner Kevin Brown (No Gutts No Glory)!!! With whom Im splitting the money with 50-50; and even Bob at the polygraph, that he has been doing for over 22 years,...all were very kind to me. This big bass tournament could have been won by any fishermen, with on one cast, one bite, and that is it folks. That's what made this tournament so special! I can only hope that we can do it again next year. I might not win next year...but maybe somebody that can really use the money, and can be humbled be great people, working so hard to make something so special.
RE: Ky. Resturant Association
Danny,
Just wanted to say congrats to you and Kevin on your winnings! So does this mean you will be fishing as an angler next season on the KBF!
Great Job guys, see you soon!

Linda,
Danny and I would just like to thank you, the KY restraunt association, Outback Steakhouse, A2O, Clear Channel Radio, the KY News Network, Jim Dicken, Fishin.com, Donnie Keeton and all the great volunteers that put on such a great event. We would also like to thank Jim Strader for the opportunity to be on his show. We are both truly humbled by all this. It still hasn't really sunk in yet. Seeing that big smallie jump will be forever etched in our memories. I knew I called the right guy to share my boat with. Danny and I have fished tournaments together for several years and it has always been 50/50 no matter who catches the fish. Danny will make a great spokesman for all the sponsors of this event. You can't find anyone with more morals and integrity than Danny Goble. We will both work hard to make next year's event much bigger and give some other lucky fisherman a shot at living out their dream. In case anyone had doubts that they would actually pay the $50,000 believe me it's real. We were only able to fish Sunday since we both had to work Friday and Saturday. I told Danny when we met Sunday morning that 2.79lb was in the lead and it was wide open all we needed was the right bite. Fortunately we got it at 6:45AM and we were lucky enough put her in the boat.
Thanks for all the congratulations from everyone. We will definately be back next year. Hopefully for all 3 days to defend our title. You can't win if you don't fish. It was the best $95 I ever spent.
Thanks again,
Kevin Brown
RE: BIG Thanks from Big Bass Big Cash
Is that the Kevin Brown that fishes with chicken man?

We just want you two to know how humbled we were to see what great people we were awarding the first annual prize to! I wish that every KRA staff member, every sponsor, and every tournament volunteer could have seen what I saw on Sunday morning when you pulled up with the big one! I've tried to discribe it, but I just can't do it justice. We have just been thrilled since presenting the $50,000 to you. We thank you two for believing us when we said "guaranteed". I firmly believe that money doesn't buy happiness, but it certainly can buy some enjoyment and even peace of mind. It is our hope that the two of you and your families just enjoy every penny to it's fullest!! Congratulations, again, from the KRA!!!!
Kevin, if you need any shirts or hats, let me know...
Linda
RE: Ky. Resturant Association
Danny, first of all I would love to take credit for dreaming it up, but we really copied off of the Ford Big Bass Bonanza in Arkansas to the tee. I'm glad I heard about it and brought it to the attention of the KRA and like so many times the KRA staff pulled off a great event with a great ending--or hopefully we can call it a great beginning. I know that there is still some skepticism among the fishing community even though we really came through with our guarantee so it looks like you and Kevin have some work to do over the next year convincing everyone else that this format can work, has integrity, is a lot of fun and can pay a lot more pool money, but not without them!! It killed us to have to reduce the pool money.
Second, of course I can believe you worked today--I wouldn't have, but I can believe you did!!
I have to tell you that this event would not have been what it was without Jim Strader (he has forever earned my loyalty), Jim Dicken and Wes Thomas. I know I've said it before but I can't say enough how much I thank them for seeing our vision. This is not just a fishing tournament--this truly is a vision with long term plans for the Ohio River and the communities that border it.
Third, we would like to officially welcome you and Kevin as our "spokesmodels!"
Also, I spoke with your "sponsor" today and your shirts will be on the way tommorrow!
Debt free and digital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll be in touch!
Linda
RE: BIG Thanks from Big Bass Big Cash
Danny,
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate your suggestions, however, I must let you guys know that we will never combine any of the lakes with the river because the fish out of the river are probably going to be smaller.
We want to promote the Ohio River beyond the bordering states as a fishing venue for more than just catfish. If supported by the fishing community, this tournament will be a win win for everyone envolved.
We hope that you all will keep in mind that the first prize is--as far as I know--the heftiest around here in amateur tourneys. That being said, it should be worth fishing a tougher body of water to win that kind of money. We know the Ohio isn't easy, but it's $50 grand and should increase as we increase in the number of anglers over 1500.
