Taylorsville lake
Wow, I was there this past Sunday evening and the water and traffic was horrible. Junk all in the water timber and logs everywhere. Unbelievable! Lucky for me, I was only jug fishing since the lake was flooded, but for my first time out on that lake this year it was horrible. Boy has the pleasure boating traffic increased.
Anyway, I did end up with about 20 nice size blue cats from back in a creek.
Has anyone been out there recently and is the traffic and garbage getting worse or did I just pick a bad day to have a good fishing trip?

RE: Taylorsville lake
First - The lake had heavy rain all last week with about 4" in 2 hours Friday evening.
Second - The boat traffic is aways bad being so near Louisville.

RE: Taylorsville lake
The fishing ended up being tougher than we first thought. My buddy and I had 3 keepers in the boat in the first hour then struggled to even get a bite. Ended up 2nd but came away feeling a little disappointed about not being able to put 1 more in the livewell over the last 3 hours. Small bag for 3 fish anyway with 5.92

RE: Taylorsville lake
I traditioanlly used the natural food source (modified). I will round up some shad and use them sometimes cutting them enough that they bleed. However, I will occasionally mix in some shrimp and chicken breast - as I did on this trip. I will say that the bigger the shad the bigger the cat's. Hope this helps out a bit. Don't forget to review the Fish and Wildlife laws and requirements on jug fishing before heading out. I useally get stopped out at T-Ville and verified that I'm following all the laws, including the new ones that were added this year.
