RE: Buy from a dealer always
Matt hit the point on the head. If I'm buying something important for my boat, no doubt I'm going to my local dealer. If something goes wrong, a good dealer will help you get it resolved. Saving a few dollars now can mean big headaches down the road!
Guys.... really, buy from dealers!!!
Hey Guys,
We all want the best deal on our boat. Heck, truth be told, most of us want them to sell it to us below cost. Reality is that they have to make money on us. We as consumers then need to also show some loyalty to our dealers.
Let me give you an example. I bought something for my boat from my dealer. It cost around $50. Rodney told me, hey you can save a lot of money if you buy that online. Guess what, this was of course while I was still working, I replied that they gave me a great deal on my boat, and I promised I would show loyalty to them as I bought future items. Guys, we have a vested interest that our dealers stay in business. Now my dealer did discount my part from what the sticker was, but it still wasn't as cheap as say basspro.com. However, when I need my boat fixed, basspro.com sure isn't going to do my motor work. In fact, and I've told this story before, but I needed some work done for a weekend tournament. It so happened that the FLW guys were there for an upcoming tourney and my dealer had a contract to give them priority. Yet Mike got my boat in and fixed for me.
These are examples of why you want to deal with you dealer. Matt has shown on here that if you buy from him, he will take care of you.
OK, here's my soap box back... LOL
BTW, my dealer is Jet-A-Marine.
