RE: Proposed Legislation - Ramps
I am not sure I would want to support this bill, the only part I would definately support would be where it states that state owned ramps leased/rented and run by a private person/co. could not charge fees for ramp usage. Maybe if they had to show where 100% of fees were put back into ramp upkeep or courteousy dock maintenance, something related to the ramp. As long as the fees are being put back into the facilities directly related to the ramp, then I have no problem with it. Just my .02

RE: Proposed Legislation - Ramps
I like the idea of no fees just as much as anybody but I would rather see Kentucky have the best ramp and dock system around. I'm willing to purchase a boat launch pass to support it but only if all the funds go specifically for the ramp and docks.
We have all seen the fee boxes at the ramps get stuffed full of money last year but how many of us saw any work or even maintence done? I can tell you that at Taylorsville lake at the Possum Ridge docks one side of the dock was missing all the tires at the beginning of the year and was still missing them at the end of year off collecting all that money. I mistakenly pulled up on that side a busy afternoon late in the summer and have big chuncks of my boat missing to prove it.
