Cannelton Dam ?
I've only fished there once and that was last year in June. I had great success. When does the river start turning on down there and what water levels should I be looking for before I head that way from Louisville? I am talking about the lower side of the dam. The river levels don't seem to fluctuate as much down there as it does at McAlpine. I mainly fish for Stripers & hybrids. Any info is appreciated.

RE: Cannelton Dam ?
I crossed there on Saturday and the water is in good shape. The saugar fishing should still be good,,,depending on any rain prior o the weekend. Stipers and hybrids are probably very spotty now. Try the south shore near the sandy beach for saugar,,,,the deep holes nearby typically hold saugar.

StriperDon-Nothing much will happen there until the middle of May. You can catch some white bass or sauger before that, but no striper or hybrids. As far as water levels, that depends on how much rough water you like to put up with. I like it about 12.5 with about 1/2 the gates open. I still have success up to about 17, but all gates are wide open and it is very rough.
Anything above 17 it gets flat out dangerous. I live in Owensboro and fish the **** all the time.
E-Mail me if you have anymore questions, or if you want to know if they are on.
