What crankbaits have worked for you one Dale? Cumberland
LAST EDITED ON Mar-06-06 AT 06:53PM (EST)[p]Crank bait time should be close at Dale with the water warming into the 50's soon. What crank baits have you had good luck on with smallmouth and how do you fish them. Such as target windy points, fish over weedbeds, etc. What kind of retrieves work best for you? Stop and go, erratic, chunk and wind, etc? I'm mainly insterested in smallmouth cranks. What about colors?

year in year out, the hot lips in crawdad pattern is a great bait on the hollow, the fish in cumberland seem to like the wiggle warts a little better, but the hot lips is the ticket. I would stick to the points but then again i dont know where much grass on DH is. Chuck and wind retrieves, if ya get board you can throw a pause in there here and there, just keep it simple, and keep a tight grip on your rod.
