What Color Tubes on Cumberland?
Only fish down on Cumberland in the winter.January throw March, then I head back to work in Connecticut.
Have never done that well down here in Kentucky, the lakes down here are very different from up north.I am a tube guy and was hoping to get a little help were to head on Cumberland.I launch down at the dam.
Are tubes a good choice??
Thanks for any help
Tim
RE: What Color Tubes on Cumberland?
I'm sure there are fish that will definitely hit a tube on the big C but early in the year a jig-n-pig in cumberland craw, green pumpkin, or brown/black will usually outproduce a tube. Give tubes in those same colors a shot and let us know how you do.
RE: What Color Tubes on Cumberland?
You mean people use tubes on C-land? I probably should, but never had to. I try to get my fish a little easier way. If I had to fish a tube, though, I would definitely throw a smoke purple or green punkin, depending on water clarity. And, yes, I have thrown a tube and, yes, that's the colors I throw. Good luck gettin any other info., though. These guys around here are as tight lipped as a carp. They might lose a nickel, or actually help a fellow fisherman out, or somethin'. I'd hate for that to happen. Good luck, Mooooooose

I'd agree with the smoke or anything that ressembles an crawdad. Good Luck!!
RE: What Color Tubes on Cumberland?
I haven't found a color that they won't hit but crawfish type colors seem fo do best. Many people rig them weedless but I've found you miss alot of fish and fish mine with a regular jig head unless I'm just targeting tree tops. I have good luck with grubs also in the spring and summer. Also a fluke weedless with out weight or on a jig head hopped off the bottom. Come to think of it if its plastic they will hit it on Cumberland no matter what color. I've even seen colors like bubble gum and neon red work. So the answer is YES they will hit a tube.

Try using a prowler rootbeer tube or a roadkill camo. Great tubes for clear water.
