Quantum® Energy® 861 PT-X M on sale

Bass Pro has this baitcaster on sale at 1/2 price. It was the top of the line baitcaster last year and they have a few left handed models in stock. Original price was $199 on sale for $99. I own mostly Shimano's but with the prices going up on the Curado I thought I would give the Quantum a try. I have never used one so I'm just hoping that I'll like it. I think you have 30 days to return it. The one thing I do like is that it has externally adjustable brakes which I think Shimano will eventually go to. Bass pro reels have already made the switch. Thats the only complaint I have with Shimano reels, you have to take the side plate off to adjust them. Its a pain to drop one of the little plastic brakes in the boat and try to track it down while fishing. Sorry I think they only have left handed models left. Quantum must be good or Kevin Van Dam would never endorse them, Right?????

good point about kvd....except he endorses the wild shiner jerkbait. I don't think he fishes it...he just endorses it.

Yea, I was being a little sarcastic. They have to support their sponsors, at least in front of the camera.

No problem. I've been using the Rick Clunn reels for a few years and really liked them, but they weren't as durable as they should be. I switched and really like the Quantums. Especially the magnetic brake vs the centrifugal (ugh!).

Did you purchase or see this reel on sale at the BPS store in Clarksville, IN? I went over there this morning and they had plenty, but they rang up at normal price, $99.95. Fella said if I could bring him some proof that they sold them for 1/2 half, he could maybe deal with me.

Oops, ignore my previous post. I misread the original post. Yes they are $99 and they have right handed models. I read the post as original price 99 and on sale for 1/2.
