25.58 lbs Wins Midwest on Laurel lake
Goodbye Cumberland....Hello Laurel Lake!!
To say the smallies were biting today may be the understatement of the century.
Twelve teams braved the snow & rain this morning to fish the Midwest Sportsman division on Laurel Lake. Nine teams were rewarded with 5 fish limits that weighed more than 10lbs each.
Congratulations go to the team of Steve Kersey & John Southern who brought to the scales a 5 fish limit of smallmouths that weighed 25.58 lbs!! Their biggest smallie weighed 5.80 lbs.!! Rumor has it they caught them on Roland Martin's "helicopter lure"
2) Bob West / Larry West (5) 21.37 lbs
3) Lawson / Ramsey (5) 18.77 lbs
4) Crawford / Crawford (5) 16.91 lbs
5) Hamblin / Wells (5) 16.42 lbs
6) Shupe / Stopher (5) 15.20 lbs
7) Jimmy Messer (5) 13.91 lbs
8) Rice / Selvey (5) 12.10 lbs
9) Elliott / Powell (5) 10.59
Ten teams weighed-in 47 fish with a total weight of 154.78 lbs.
That is an average of 3.29 lbs per fish! WOW
There is still time to join this division and qualify for the Year-End Classic to be held on KY & Barkley Lakes in October.

Steve
If this was the same bunch that fished out of Alligator 2 what was the winning weight at Cumberland.

Fishman,
This is not the bunch that fishes out of Pumpkin Creek on Cumberland. I have not yet received their results. When I do, I will post their results.

Can somebody tell me what the water temp was on Laurel. Thinking about one more F-n-F trip this week if water is still cold enough. Thanks
