In Fishermen striper river program
If you got to see it today on oln it was very informative. I do not understand why Mr Mclintock would give that information to the rest of us for free. They were fishing swim baits, that looked to be optimum swim baits trout colored and they were catching stripers in the 20 to 30 pound class. That is good, because the rest of us do not need the special equipment to keep skipjacks alive to catch them. That being said there should be other lures that may work even better, the muskie lure slidin shad in cisco color may work even better I have caught channel cats in green river lake on it(6 inch bait) Now i cannot wait to go.
RE: In Fishermen striper river program
Getting on natinal TV and getting you phone numer flashed on screen could have something to do with it. Fred wasn't born yesterday so he knows what good publicity it is for his guide service to be on the in-fisherman. Fred is a great guide and he doen't care to tell you about fishing or hot spots. Besides you really need an aluminum boat to run the river and that knocks half of us out of fishing it. I have to borrow my brothers boat to fish the river. By the way the river can be hard on the lower unit if your not careful.

On the lower end of the river where we put in in celina on the obey river I have seen several bass boats bigger than mine fishing for sauger several miles up the cumberland from the mouth of the obey into the cumberland river. avoid creek mouth shoals that can easily be seen and the min. depth is around 6 feet. avoid the v wakes on the surface which are again easily seen in the daytime which might be big logs on the bottom go slow and have fun. I have been there several times without a problem
