RE: Beach at Cedar Creek????
My opinion you shouldn't say that a small lake is being managed as a trophy fishery and then put a beach on it. Also, it is located in one of the better shore fishing areas, however I was happy to see that they've cleared a new area. I also second the opinion that it's probably also a dangerous place to put it. I think it would have been better on the opposite shore from where it is to be located now.
RE: Beach at Cedar Creek????
I have said it before on this sight and will again. Why call it a trophy lake and then open it up to the fishermen at least a year too soon. Now the Beach goes in because the fishing in the lake itself is not drawing the crowd to help bring in the revenue to the surrounding area. The Beach will bring in some more people to bring in a few more bucks to the community. I don't fish Cedar and have only fished it a few times when I lived in Frankfort but think it is pretty sad that the "Trophy Lake of Kentucky" will be just another "Fishing Hole" before it is all said and done. The Lakefront properties is not far behind, docks all over the place and nasty ones at that, Goodbye Cedar Creek Trophy Lake, hello Beaver Lake with a Beach. I can see it now, Pontoons tied up to the broken down wood docks, Jet Skis racing across the lake dodging the trees, cans and trash floating in the lake, the surrounding lakefront property riddled with houses, Blah Blah Blah. The sad part is that when Cedar Creek was impounded visions of 8,9,10....pounders dancing in all of our heads. Finally, a Trophy Lake dedicated to us fishermen with no chance of the joyboaters and their idiot boats interferring with us in our venture to catch the BIBUNS. So much for visions. It always comes back to MONEY. The city needs more money so lets put in a Beach. There needs more housing so lets put in lakefront property. The dock sales are down so lets let the lakefront owners put in their own docks. ***** Big Time
