Similar to Chatter Bait???
Today I found a "swimming jig" that looked a lot like the chatterbait, but it was from StrikeKing, I think... can't remember, and the blade was slightly different. It did not have a crimped blade, but instead appeared to have a smoothe blade.
Anyone else seen these?
Danny
RE: Similar to Chatter Bait???
I bought a bait today called the "Chatter Jig" made by a company in Bardstown, it looks Very simular to the chatterbait but it doesn't have the tails. I haven't tried it yet but it looks good.
BTW...after looking at this bait close-up I'm gonna try and make some blades to add-on to my jigs to see if the action can be duplicted...

RE: Similar to Chatter Bait???
Strikeking puts the blade on a split ring instead of directly to the eye of the hook and the blade gets hung up and doesnt move at all.
RE: Similar to Chatter Bait???
I bought some made by gambler that matt is talking about and the blade thickness is .017.I bought some of the.007 from mcmaster-carr and it is not stiff enough, maybe i ordered the wrong stuff.
RE: Similar to Chatter Bait???
Rick Im using the shim stock (.007) from mcmaster and have had no problems, you want to be able to bend the blade somewhat as it needs to be tuned a little

RE: Similar to Chatter Bait???
the blade on the chatter bug is .027 thick ( counting sticker) which should leave the blade being .025 thick. I've got alot of shim stock but the hard part is cutting it to the right diamentions.
