Cedar Creek Lake
LAST EDITED ON Apr-08-06 AT 10:51PM (EST)[p]Anybody got some insight on locating bass on Cedar Creek lake?
There is SO much timber on any given bank, and obviously you are not going to find bass over every tree on every bank. What structure should i key in on to locate bass consistently on this lake other than just submerged timber? Points with timber? Timber near creek channels? coves with timber? i'm not asking for any specific locations just general ideas. Also what techniques/lures work well on this lake? Thanks Guys!

All the bass are waiting for the NEW BEACH to open up, after that they'll be on every tree...lol.
Sorry man I couldn't help myself and I can't give you much advise, cedar puzzles me too.

Bill Dance used to say fish the changes.. areas where the trees stop and turn into bank, or bank that goes from clay to rock, or rock to gravel. I have had some success on other lakes doing that.. he even wrote a book about it years ago. Got it signed at the BIG Show in January back when the big names still showed up at the Sport Boat and Vacation Show.
I still have it somewhere if you want to read it.. LOL.

amen!!!! I have better luck catching slab shellcrackers than bass, my biggest bass came off a spinnerbait last may, around 3 1/2lbs and was the ONLY fish of the day...

Dont know what to tell ya. Last time I was there I caught 2 decent fish in 13 ft of water then 2 rel nice fish in 4 ft of water and a 22 1/4 incher on a flat carolina rigging. So I guess ya have to try a lil everything and hope for the best.
