WENT TO THE LAKE AND SAW ANYWHERE FROM 1 TO 10 POUND BASS IN THE SHALLOWS BY LOGS ON TOP OF THE WATER, JUST SETTING THERE, THREW EVERY BAIT I HAD ONLY ONE FISH OUT OF THE GROUP HIT, SHE WAS ABOUT 8 TO 9 POUNDS ON PIG AND JIG, AND THAT WAS IT. I KNOW THERE GETTING READY TO SPAWN BUT THERE MUST BE SOME KIND OF TRICK TO GET THEM TO BITE. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A TRICK THAT MIGHT GET THE BASS TO HIT A BAIT.
Did you try a suspending jerkbait like a shad rap or a soft plastic minnow. They will get mad sometimes and bite but most of the time they are there for viewing pleasure. I dont have much luck catching bass that are just suspending and not on a bed. Should be any day now though before it gets HOT!!
and which lake were you at?

I was at kincaid and they were not carp, you could clearly see the patterns of the fish, tried a jig and wee bait and plastic with no luck, was wondering about minnows or shiners to get a bite, I dont do fish with live bait to much so that is an area I am not sure about. But they were bass.
