I will be heading down to fish Rough River 2 or 3 times in the next few weeks. I was just wondering how you did when you went down there and what the water color was like?

The fishing was slow but I think that was due to the post frontal conditions. Sunday was definately better than Saturday.
On Sat. I fished up North fork around the last bridge before Calamese creek, the back side of the island and George branch which was where I had most of my hits. I then went to Tules and fished the heck out of it with no success at all. I did speak to one guy who said he tore em up in tules on Friday on a trick worm.
On Sunday we were in a tourney, and since I really didn't have much to go on we fished the opposite side of the big island from laurel branch, up the chute from laurel toward North fork, and points leading into pockets from Laurel to lick fork creek.
Fished hard and actually caught a ton of fish but only ended up weighing four one nice one, on barely a keeper. the rest were slot fish. It only took a bit over ten pounds to win.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Having four fish on a tough day is not bad. I fished a tourney Sun. at Barren and was happy to have four fish at the scales. What club do you fish?
COmmonwealth bass club out of Louisville. Small club but a really good group of guys. I really am enjoying fishing tourneys again. I didn't fish any last year because I just bought a new house and didn't want to spend any money.
