chatterbaits
Went to dicks today and bought some of the remaining chatterbaits and to be honest they look kind of thrown together. They had this plastic coating on the hook that seems to be a little impossible to get off and there was even a little rust under the coating.Still cant wait to try them out.If anyone else bought these and noticed the same thing or have any suggestions on how to remove that coating i would very much appreciate it.

RE: chatterbaits
Maybe they are now mass producing them due to the demand and when you go to mexico or china, quality control can be compromised.
I haven't bought a chatterbait, but I have used somehting called a wobble jig thats made in muscle shoals, AL and it did bring a vicious strike. Dave

RE: chatterbaits
The articles I've read indicate they are entering an agreement with Renosky Lures to help with production and distribution. I have read that there will be two major distribution spots. I figure the ones made by hand now will be better than those produces with cooperation of Renosky lures.
Forgive me if I spelled Renosky Lures incorrectly.

RE: chatterbaits
Rad Lures is the official inventor of the "chatterbait" Is that what you bought from Dicks? They are selling on e bay for big bucks. I am sure there are a ton of low budget copy cat baits on the market. The Rad Lure baits that I have been in contact with have been very well constructed.

RE: chatterbaits
I fished one for awhile yesterday. Ohio River catfish love them. I caught 3 flatheads and missed numerous short strikes. Also caught a few nice spots. I love the vibration and action. Can't wait to try them again... Dan

Is anybody having any luck with these so far this spring?

Short strikes??
I wonder if you could use a trailer hook just like on a spinnerbait?? I love the new trailer hooks that have the feathers around them with red in it... not sure it really helps, but it caught me... LOL
