I fished Friday night and Saturday all day long, caught two males 151/2" and 8 other small bass. No spawning yet but the bucks had quite a bit of damage on their tails. Talked to several fishermen and they all said the same thing... Water temp as high as 72 degree's and as low as 62 at times...
Thanks for asking. I'm gonna be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday myself. Uncle has a place down there and we're all going for a derby party, but I'm sure a few of us will spend more time on the water than partying. The race is great but I'd rather be fishing, especially if they are in pre-spawn. Pre-spawn makes for two possibilities. Either finding and feeding them big hungry sows before they go on the nest, or tough to buy a bite. The first is a lot of fun and a chance at some quality fish. The second just gives me a chance to work on fishing tough bite days. Makes me think and try harder and try techniques and lures that I often ignore. Either way it will be a good time. Good luck on your time down there and if you get a chance let me know how you did after you get back. Thanks, CJ
I fished Monday. The bite was a little tough. I did manage to catch several buck bass. Most were tight to wood. I did catch a few in some bays with the rig. Black and blue tubes green punpkin junebug were the best color. We only had two fish come on cranks, the rest on plastic. Total fish 12-14 the best was close to 15 inches. Good luck. Ryan.
parents have a place down there, Going down right after work Friday and hope to fish Saturday and Sunday. Hope to post good results Monday. Where is everybody fishing out of this weekend? we will be fishing out of the Nolin Estates area in a white and blue Lowe, hope to see you all on the water.
