Short, fat tubes
I was going through my tackle last night Finally going fishing this Friday. It's been over 5 weeks... Ouch!!! Anyway, I came across 2 packs of tubes that I don't ever use because I can't figure out how to rig them right. The thin rubber, straight tubes are easy to rig with a standard tube head or Texas rig. How do you guys rig those short, stubby, fat body tubes??? I love the profile and the way they look but can't figure out a good rigging method. Help and give advice if you can... Thanks!

Get you some real wide gap hooks and texpose them, good hook sets and not alot of lost fish. You can find these for texas rigging or the leadhead wide gaps are available as well, hpoe this helps.

RE: Short, fat tubes
If they are the 3.5" tubes like the old Snoozer's, use the Grigsby HP EWG hooks. They are the only hooks I ever found to work good with the Snoozers.

RE: Short, fat tubes
you might need to spend a few minutes in the hook/terminal tackle isle at bass pro to resolve this one, but I like a 1/0 or #1 size (thinner wire) EWG for most tubes. I also like some of the Kayle style tube hooks like the HP Grigsby hooks. I think they are made by Eagle Claw. They have a little clip to hold the tube up. This takes some getting use to, but it works really well.
Hope this helps you friend.

RE: Short, fat tubes
i like the ultra point 2/0 or 3/0 big mouth hook. its a little heavier but it works good on the snoozer tubes. tight lines

RE: Short, fat tubes
Thanks for the feedback. I came across some of those Kayle style hooks with the clips on them in my "sea of fishing crap" last night. I have not used them in quite a few years but think I'll give them a try again tomorrow. Fishing daylight til dark tomorrow, boys!!! Can't wait.
