stoner creek
fished out of frymans monday, happy to see the ramp and campground were still open. had a note on the door to pay later, not to bother them, the water was muddy from all the boat trafic, not too much curent, the fish were scattered but seemed to be holding to rock walls on the wider part of the creek in the turnes. got all of my keeper fish on white spinnerbait, got some smaller ones on smiley beaver,no hits on lizzards,or tubes.the red eye havent been biteing at all. cought one on spinner. to much green crap and coontail to buzzbait. tons of baitfish, of some kind down by the dam. didnt look like shad,to big to be minners, maybe alwifes, seems like somthing had them busting the top of the water, but they didnt want any of my spinnerbait. oh ya, and one great big turtle on the smiley beaver, now you should have seen this fool trying to get this great big pissed off turtle unhooked cause im to lazy to cut the line and retie. well it was a sight.happy huntin

not really, it does get pretty shallow but you need a boat to get to the shallow ends of the creek.

RE: stoner creek
Have never been to stoner creek but would like to try it.What do i expect size wise? Is it best to take the bass boat or a john boat with 10 hp. motor? I have fished streams like elkhorn, salt river, chaplin river, and Ky. river but never stoner creek. Also need location of frymans ramp and campground. Thanks for any help.

RE: stoner creek
There's some places below Ike...way down stream where Hinkston/Stoner form the Licking.....
But above Ikes and Fryman's Fishunter tells it right.

RE: stoner creek
I would go with the john boat but you can take a bass boat. I have seen 21ft boats with 225 on it. But you take a chance on a prop. Directions depends on which way you go Lexington or Winchester.
