SAVE FISH!!!!
LAST EDITED ON Jun-04-06 AT 11:09PM (EST)[p] Anybody know how to do ,what Iv'e heard called.Bleeding
a fish? When a fish is pulled from deep water it traps air in
them, and causes them to die. This can be helped by not bringing
them up so fast, but I dont waste any time and chance losing
them.
I myself have seen on TV ,run something like a pin down the
throat and bust something. On saltwater fish they pulled fish
from deep and poked something in their side to save them.
Can anyone tell me where to get info on this?

RE: SAVE FISH!!!!
To bleed a bass, Fins the middle of the dorsal fins, where the hard spines meet the soft spines. (usually a bass out of water will lay down all of the hard spines leaving the soft ones mostly visible, upon finding the middle, draw an imaginary line from there to the anal opening, after this is established, count 3-5 scales below the lateral line and this is the insertion point. NOTE, do not poke through the scales, with a sideways angle, go under the scales, insert the needle, let the fish bleed a while, but not for too lone, the fish needs a little are in the swim bladder, for complete diagram, go to: http://www.thefishermans-tips.com/diagram.htm
Good Luck, good to know we have someone who cares about the life of our game.
