Fishing the Ohio this evening......L-ville area......help
Me and a friend of mine are planning on fishing the Ohio River this evening for the first time. We fish from the bank due to the fact that we are both broke and dont have a boat. =) We are in the Louisville area and would like to stay close (within a half hour drive or so). Can anyone give us any good spots to visit, what baits to use, etc. Any info is appreciated!
Thanks!

Well, with no info going in, we basically just drove around until we found a decent spot. We ended up on the IN side of the river just before the old railroad bridge at a dock area. Not what we had in mind, but it had to do since it was getting late. We stayed for about 3 hours and in that time we caught two small white bass and had a few other bites but nothing worth bragging about really.
We plan on going back to the Ohio, but on a day that we have more time to feel out a better spot.

There is a spot down by the University of Louisville row team. It is off River Road. Pass Eva Badnman (spelling) park and take your next right (if you are headed into town). They are starting to develop this area for condos. But you can go back there and fish.
