Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
Although we had all planned on contributing to working on the first KY College Bass Championship, UL ended up taking the work load and taking care of the trophies and getting the KBF to host our weigh-in. To Hats off to the UL team for their effort, I look forward to fishing with you guys again.

I think you guys did a great job with the trophies and the tournament, I wish there were a few more boats but well make that happen next year. I had a great time fishing with you guys and cant wait till we do it again next year. Anytime any of you UL guys are down this way let me know and Id be more than happy to take you fishing so just give me a holler. Drew
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
we got to talking about this with the eastern guys and we should try to plan the next one for the spring so we can move the event around, KY lake and barren are the only summer lakes that fish real well, so maybe we can get something together for an april event. And maybe, just maybe, I can get a second team to fish with our team so I dont have to try to beat a ten fish limit with five fish.
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
Sounds like a good a idea... this tournament was kind of a now or never deal, we had a hard time getting everyone together on it! Seems like a lot of guys were all about it, but when the time came they wussed out (Murray, Centre, Western....).
CBAA had originally thought they would help, but they sat around with a thumb up their hind end! Anyhow, I'm pleased with how it turned out, like you said I wished we could have had more paticipation!!! EKU - it's up to you guys how to do it next year!!! The winner gets to host the event the following year right?!! I'm looking forward to it!
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
Oh yeah, well host it lol but I guess that means I can pick the lake right? lol. Well get an overall vote to see where everyone wants to go. It just seems like Barren or Ky Lake are our only choices since it needs to be durint the summer and those are the best summer lakes. Lets hear some input. Drew.
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
I vote KY Lake, or Barkley. It might be the only way to get the Murray guys to compete! They're too scared to go anywhere else! Ha ha ha!!!!
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
Can I get some lessons from you guys on summer time fishing! Man, that was the worse two days of fishing I've had...Had several drops, but hit two in practice caught a good fish off both within ten casts. Go to them both on saturday, sit on them for 3 hours a piece and freakin' nothing!!! After the first three hours I was already a little aggervated, then another three. Really, I mean do you all live and die by these spots, or fish them for a bit of time then leave if you don't get bit?
Although my poor performace, the tournament was fun and glad to meet you guys. I think it should be that every college wcontributes to the thing, not one college. But we'll keep in touch for sure, i know some of you all are going to smash-mouth, and myself and scott are so heck we can go down in a convoy, rollin' up deep representing Kentucky. One of the KY teams are definately bringing home the trophy!
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
Come on and join our convoy.... CONVOY!!!
Ha ha ha! :)
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
Eric,
I think you should look into that Carolina Rig a little more! I kind of disagree with you when you said, "The Carolina Rig is gay!" Ha ha ha!!! Oh well, there's always next year, right?!
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
This is going to sound horrible, but I graduated from EKU 2 years ago and never heard a word about a college fishing team there. I was in the Ag. Program and I'm sure someone would have had to day something about it. Is this a new thing that just recentley started or did I miss a great opportunity to fish in college??
RE: Big Thanks L-Raisin Anglers
It's very new. Our U of L team didn't form until March 1st of this year. It's difficult at U of L to get interest because for one, there's a lot of city folk in college at U of L who don't fish and put partying and getting wasted at a higher priority, and the lack of an agricultural department deters us good ol' boys from going to U of L.
Anyhow, Fox College Sports is puting on their first collegiate tournament this year, and I think ESPN's tournament is only in it's second year. I think you just missed the boat on college angling! Don't despare though, I think it's only a matter of time before college angler alumni can get involved! I'd love to see college angler alumni become boaters for the undergrads in these tournaments! I know that once I get my Masters degree in May, there will be a nice new Ranger in my future and I'd be more than happy to be a boater in collegiate events!
