Welcome to the board! I'm sure you'll learn somethings. We all could learn somethings from you I'm sure.
Good luck fishin'!

Welcome to the board Chris. I fish Barkley a few times a year myself...well probably more than a few.
Welcome to the board and good luck fishing.
I grew up in Lexington and spent summers on Herrington, well actually the Dix River side of the dam and I also now live in Western KY - Marshall County. You are gonna love these lakes, if you don't already.
Danny,
You're just north of me one county. I'm in Todd and try to fish Barkley as much as possible but also fish some on Malone. Usually fish the tues. nighter they have every week. If you're not fishing it and know much about the lake maybe you can help me out.
Hello to you.
I am also new to the board about three weeks ago, I guess I have already learned from you. I should have introduced myself. I am from Illinois about 200 miles north of Kentucky lake I have a house boat at Kentucky Dam. Do not fish the lake a lot but I fish Bull Shoals spring and fall for small mouth. I know the lake has great small mouth and I need to find the time to learn it.

Welcome to the board. In my humble opinion you're going to enjoy fishing Barkley/Ky just tad more than Herrington.
Welcome! I don't know if they explained the rules of the board to you, but you have to tell where all of your honey holes are.
Just kidding! LPH
That's no problem, except that I haven't found them myself. But when I do I will surely let you know. LOL
New to the board also.I was borned and raised in Muhlenburg Co. but now living in Hopkins co.Good to know that alot of people on here live in Western Ky and fish the big lakes.
h2fishing,
I am only about 25 miles from Malone, but never fish it...LOL
I sold my bass boat in '98, an 18' Stratos with 150, and I fished a lot down there then, but had little luck. I bought the boat specifically to fish that lake, but found I was there mostly just to get away from stress. Since I did not catch many bass, I bought a larger boat in 2002 when I got my Triton, a TR21. It has a 225 hp, so I am not allowed on that lake. It does seem the fishing is getting better down there based upon what I have heard.
The biggest tip I can give you is that the fishing style that works the best is use small crawfish immitating baits, and fished extremely slowly through the submerged brush piles.
Good luck with the Tuesday nighters.
If I should ever get my boat back on the road, you will be welcome to join me on a fishing trip at any time. I'm having trailer trouble, very serious trailer problems. The center post that holds the roller and winch assembly is almost torn loose. The metal below the weld is what tore. The weld held, but the metal did not. This has been going on for 4 weeks, and EZ Loader, the manufacturer of the trailer, really seems to not care to deal with consumers, or dealers for that matter.
Good luck.....
Danny
