Huge sacks!
This weekend I passed on a club T at Barkley to fish the Barren KBF qualifier and both events had some great sacks of fish. Jimmy Cardwell, a good buddy of mine and danged good fisherman (don't tell him I said that) had 19.13 lbs on Saturday. He followed it up with 15 lbs on Sunday to spank some SOKY Bassmaster hiney over on the big water. He had some competition from other club members, but I don't know what their final weights were. On Saturday Kevin Sims had 16 lbs and our youngest member, 16 year old Carl 'Little Mo' Oelker had a 13 lb limit.
It took almost 18 lbs to win the KBF qualifier on Barren, and a bunch of limits were brought to the scales. Most anglers in the top 20 had double digit weights, and I think this event had the heaviest bags of any KBF qualifier this year. We also had a lady angler qualifiy for the state championship tournament with some nice fish. I chatted with her husband who had a hard luck day, but he was pretty thrilled for her. A KDFWR fish tanker truck was on hand to hold and release the fish for us, and the KBF, thanks to the officers and region 3 directors did a great job.

RE: Huge sacks!
The relay for life tourney on the often referred to "dead sea" of Cave Run took nearly 20lbs to win over the weekend. That was 4 fish. 18.78 for second and 15.94 for third. 98 entered boats in the event that raised a lot of money for a great cause. Maybe there is a few bass there after all.
