Loss of life at Cumberland.
Two young people both 21 years of age, a boy and a girl were found dead in Faubush creek over the weekend. Their jetski was found some distance from them and both were wearing Pfd's. What a terrible thing, it seems they were running at night when the accident occured. Please be careful out there gang, I hate to hear about these awful tragic events that could most times be easily avoided. May God be with their families during this time of need.
RE: Loss of life at Cumberland.
Jet Ski at night and people swimming at night has cost 4 people their lives over the weekend. COMMON SENSE goes a long way in keeping people safe.
For an avid night fisherman, I am more and more concerned with other people not using any common sense and causing me to have an accident versus me having one on my own. There was a sailboat anchored right in the middle of Duncan Bay just inside the wildlife winter protected area a few weeks back that gave me hell when I asked them to turn on a light. When I shined my spotlight on it to find the boat numbers to report and told him what I was doing he turned it on. I am the first to admit that I turn off my running lights when I am fishing but have a spotlight handy and stay aware of my surroundings. I have seen more and more Jet Ski's WAY after dark at KY this year versus last.
Use some common sense

Dave, I told my wife several years ago that the big C was gonna start averaging 3 to 4 deaths a year down there with all the crazy crap we were seeing. Well this is one time I really hate being right. I think the toll is approaching 10 or so down there since the first of the year, it's just horrible and most all of it could be avoided, just like ole Elnut said, common sense.
RE: Loss of life at Nolin
I heard a couple weeks ago a guy and girl were found dead in Nolin?? Hadn't heard anymore about it.
RE: Loss of life at Cumberland.
I agree with you Elnut, I also have seen far too many jet skis out past dark. Seems like the majority of them are people who lose track of time at the bar at Buzzard Rock! I've been cruising along in the pontoon just after sunset and have had several come up behind me ask me where Ky Dam was, and yet they were still over on Barkley! What's even more aggravating is when I'm floating along WAY out of the channel at night, fishing and so on, and have boats come up asking me where they are at! Talk about making it hard to go skinny dipping!! ;)
If you don't know the lake, or how to boat safely at night, then get wise or get off the lake!
