Headed to Dale Hollow this week
Work is taking me down to Dale Hollow for 2 days this week. I'm not taking my boat(actually it's dad's but he's picked up saltwater fishing so I'm the only one that uses it now). If I take a light or two can I do any good fishing from the dock? Or if I can get out on the water, what's hitting good right now, and on what lures? Thanks in advance friends,
Norm

Fished last night with a friend from 8-11 -> boated 6 -> 1 largemouth in the 14 in range, 3 smallies in the 14-16in range and 2 smallies in the 18in range. the bite was good and it not been sunday, we would have stayed until 2 or 3. the bite was great. fish were caught on worm, creature bait, jig, silver buddy. basically it was a really good BITE (they were hitting anything we tossed). not sure where you can dock fish at dale hollow though.

That is a great report. I fished Friday night without much luck at all. How deep were you catching fish and what part of the lake did you find fish?(lower, upper or mid section) Thanks for the info. Thought the dog days had set in.

fished main lake points around the state dock -> fish were as shallow as 15ft and as deep as 35ft. we just worked the points out from about 15ft. bite was surprisingly good on the points/bluffs - did not get as many fish from the grass. live on c land where the dog days are in full effect so we opted for Dale -> shorter fishing time but more fish caught! good luck and post results - considering heading back down on thurs night.
RE: Headed to Dale Hollow this week
The trip has been postponed till probably some time in September. We'll have a boat down there that we'll be using during training, but it's a big Boston Whaler about 25 feet or so, not made for fishing, so I'll probably be stuck walking down to the dock on the island we're staying at. Maybe I'll figure out some way to get my boat down there between now and then.
