Lake Malone Bass Tournaments
First off before i get started on this I have nothing against Bass Fisherman, but there are a few I would swear are missing a portin of their brain. They had 2 Bass Touranments going on at Lake Malone Aug 25, fine no problem, we were going to do some night fishing, but after watching a few of them out there we decided against it. What possess these people to drive full throttle at night I dont care how well you know a lake it is not safe. Then we stood on the dock and I watched 3 boats drive by with no lights on!!! Are people really that stupid?? I guess so. Maybe I am just from old school but safety id first for me, I am not ready to go meet my maker. Then to top that off I am sitting ont he back of our bass boat ( it is tied up to the slip) 2 bass boats come by one hooks the canvas cover on the boat next to me and the other hooks the dock right next to me. I know I dont own the lake but neither do they. They were only about 5 feet from my boat now i think that is alittle to close. and by the way I didnt not help them get the lure out of the dock or off the canvas top on the other boat.
I just wish they would use a little courtesy when fishing, i felt like I was at a pay lake.

it's not just lake malone man. i've seen more idiots out there this year than i ever have before. i watched one boat beach itself 3 times in 5 minutes in the exact same spot on rough about a month or so ago. another guy skiing at midnight. another guy pull up to his dock at about 30 MPH and just destroy the dock (we were fishing about 30 ft from the dock when he did this). saw 2 boats bump running full throttle and racing, laughing the whole time about it. another boat passed me and partner between us and the bank when we were only about 40 ft or so from it and we were running about 40. it's just been nuts this year.

Nothing new.
I used to have a pontoon that I kept docked down at Lake Malone, then moved to Lake Barkley. Same problems you describe at both lakes, and very often, like every weekend I'd find either a new lure or new tears.
What really bit my back side though was when I would stay out after dark, and some body would take my slip with their bass boat. At Malone, Nat took care of it for me... at Barkley one of the folks from the marina would. If no one would have, I'd have moved the boat myself, even if that meant just sitting it adrift.
I figure, hey, I paid for the slip,, dang it I'll use it!! (language cleaned up so it would not get censored).
Tight lines and God Bless
Danny

Oh, i know it is not just Lake Malone, but that just happened to be the lake I was at. It just totally amazes me the disrespect that people have for boating. I am sure i have done some stupid stuff when we first got our boat, but we have learned very quickly. I learned how to dodge the jet ski's!! LOL.
